Sweet home Jamaica is dedicated to all the strong independent women of the world, who know what they want and go for it. The story rings true and challenges men to support, respect and honor women. After much pleading, coaxing and support from her family and friends, Michelle Freeman, who resided in England, returned to Jamaica to start a business.Upon arrival, family members who helped to orchestrate funding for the business were very supportive. Michelle's determination, strength and independence were evident throughout the book. Her no-nonsense attitude was quite evident in the "National Pastime Chapter." During a verbal exchange with the judge, she stormed out of the Rent Board and gave the clerk a message that was consistent with the judge's explanation that certain words were a part of Jamaica's national pastime.Richard Armstrong was very supportive and helped her during the tough times, especially when she was rejected by her mother. The book is packed with strong emotions, which is nicely flavored with Jamaican patois.I highly recommend this book.
