It is the latest facet of an ever-evolving artist regarded by many as the most consistently innovative and intriguing presence in modern music. The "thing" about St. Vincent has always been her ability to really hone a sound unique to her while sitting, vaguely, inside the confines of the genres she has chosen. This is my favorite album of hers, and I've been a fan since she played Marrow on Letterman. Her life performances have been my favorite since I saw her with David Byrne, and I've been to over 200 concerts in my life. Her studio albums have always lacked some of the power of the live show (but utilized to showcase how great of an artist she truly is). Daddy's Home feels like the perfect blend of what makes her live shows so amazing while still showcasing her amazing song writing.
