The home’s beautiful facade begins to crumble around them when their teenage son uncovers disturbing details of Rawlingswood’s history―a history of murder, betrayal, and financial ruin. The Spielmans’ own shameful secrets and lies become harder to hide as someone or something inside the house watches their every move.As tensions build between the family members, the home’s dark history threatens to repeat itself. Margot and Myron must confront their own ghosts and Rawlingswood’s buried past before the house becomes their undoing.

D. M. Pulley's latest book No One's Home was incredible. I enjoy Pulley's books and was excited to hear her new one was a haunted house. I have been interested in the haunted house trope since I read Shirley Jackson's The Haunting of Hill House. Jackson's is the gold standard by which I judge haunted house books.Emily Sutton-Smith narrated the audiobook. She did an excellent job. When she spoke for Hunter, I heard a very confused and angry teenager. All of the characters were very well done. The ideas that the author conveyed in her words was enhanced by the narration. The house at issue is built in the early 1900s. The first owner and builder of the house christens it with blood and tragedy. Each successive owner leaves their own tragedy behind. But it is not just the owners' tragedies we see. It is also young people and teens who used the house for parties during the times it was abandoned. Each thread of the tragedy tied together. The last few chapters were amazing. I was very surprised at how the book ended. Pleasantly surprised. The last few pages, blasting loudly from my Alexa device, were bittersweet and incredible.I purchased No One's Home in the Kindle and Audible versions
