This is the best of her latest work....though I must say that I did not like how she pertrayed Nan and Sara as adults. But leaving that aside for a minute. The main charcter was good, deep, and believable. I liked her very much and how she dealt with the issues in front of her. I was interested in her and wanted to see how she fared. I liked the choices she made. The dialog was good and believable, the people were intersting. Now I know that I said that I didn't like how Nan and Sara were written,(and I know that a great many people are mad at me about that now), but that was because the birds were more beleviable than the girls were. It felt like the author knew that she had two characters that are so loved by her readers that she didn't need to add anything to make her readers continue to love them, but they are adults now and should have been more deeply explained. They were flat and two demensional. How can you leave two of the most loved charcters in this seris so flat, they didn't even sound like themselves. They sounded like little side charcters that don't need any discription because she felt that they didn't matter. We only get the barest history of their recent adventures and training. All of a sudden Sara is in complete control of her spirit powers, BOOM ... Nevile can talk now. Come on now, they deserved better from the author. Now even with this feeling I gave this book five stars, and I mean it. I will reread this book multiple times and still be happy with it. It is one of her better works from the last couple of years. The lead charcter is one of her best ever female leads. The location is new and fresh. The side charcters are good and keep the story flowing. The dialog is just right to engage the reader with just the right accents. This book is well worth your time and money, just be aware that you might be disappionted by By how the author continues Nan and Sara, but don't let that stop you from reading a very good story and being introduced to a very good new female lead.
