I have owned a vinyl copy of this album for decades. It is truly one of those hidden gems from the 60's that somehow got lost. I hear the sounds of Shawn Phillips all over this. But, wait a minute! Phillips didn't release his first album, Contribution, until 1970. So what is going on here? Shawn Phillips was playing on Donovan records that were also on Epic label. Frank Kinsel does a song on this album called Sparrow that has some riffs very much like Season Of The Witch by Donovan. There seems to be a mutual fondness here between Frank Kinsel and Shawn Phillips, whatever it is! Anyway, this is a great sounding album with some very good players! It will take you back to a time when the singer songwriters were being born and Frank Kinsel sounds as good as any of them!
