Jazz uninflated..... rozz sings and narrates his way through sparse, simple soundscapes that range from relaxing to disturbing. Gitane sings her way along the shores of romantic moonlit lakes, and down old deserted pathways to meaningful but mysterious spots. this album is just another step in the path of two musicians who fall out of love with the conventions around them. rock, goth, be whatever it is. I wish there were way way more daretakers like these two around now. almost all the great ones end up getting bored with this place way too soon. well at least for me. ' the popes egg hat' is a kind of spoken symphony of thaughts about eternal life and where it fits in actual nature. ' dream home hartache' is a cover tune (brian ferry) drawing parrilells between heaven and unsatisfaction. 'moon without a tear' is just a beauty of a song that I cannot even believe gitane wrote. that's not to say gitane cant write music, that's to say this song stands alone out of seemingly millions ive heard to be an expression of content and peace with ones self. no one can touch it.
